The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is actually the world's busiest commercial airport in terms of passenger volume. As the central hub for the Southeastern United States, it is often the junction point for International Tourists to enter the country for their vacations, as well as the exit point. With over forty-million boardings, and in 2008 alone, it's no shock that locally known Atlanta Airport is massive. Interestingly though, the ten most used routes in and out of the airport are all within the United States. Another unique feature of the Hartsfield-Atlanta International Airport is their underground "people mover" which is a property only tram for flight passengers. Much like a subway, it has boarding and unloading zones and is designed to be used along with nearby moving walkways in order to minimize the distance passengers will need to carry their luggage in their arms. This alone is often one of the best features airports have ever included as anyone with multiple large cases and connecting flights can attest. The subway is further extended by the airport's local train station, MARTA. With this, passengers need not find a taxi or rental car to enter the city as it is connected to the larger city-wide railroad network.
If you don't need to go into Atlanta though, you can make use of the Hartsfield-Jackson Rental Car Center. Opened in 2009, the car center houses almost ten thousand different makes and models from ten current airport rental agencies. At the Hartsfield-Jackson Rental Car Center, the Atlanta International Airport has the remainder of what any frequent flyer could need upon arrival. Of all the airports in the world, this is the busiest and even includes its own train station.
